Who runs the retreat?

The retreat is run by young adult men who are currently serving as missionaries within the Regnum Christi Mission Corps program. They are accompanied spiritually by a team of Legionary of Christ priests who serve as chaplains during the retreat.

Where is the retreat held?

The retreat is held at the Legionary of Christ Novitiate and College of Humanities in Cheshire, Connecticut. It’s home to about 80 Legionary of Christ seminarians and priests. It is located within a wide and peaceful property conducive to both spiritual and wholesome fun group activities.

Who does the retreat cater to?

The retreat is meant for any highschooler (9th-12th grade) that woud like to spend quality time in a great Catholic environment, reigniting their faith in God, the Church and growing in friendship with other Catholic young men who also seek the same ideals of virtue and holiness.

How much does the retreat cost?

The retreat costs $200 which covers all food, lodging and transportation between the airport and the center.

What kind of activities does the retreat offer?

The retreat offers the following key activities:

  • Spiritual activities: contemplative/meditative prayer, group prayer (lectio divina, rosary, adoration, holy hours), spiritual directions/mentoring, sacraments (daily mass, availability for confessions)

  • Formation activities: formative/motivational talks (on virtues such as relationship with God, sincerity, purity, good friendships, et cetera), group workshops and discussions

  • Fun activities: sports tournaments, group outings/picnics/hikes, team games and competitions, meals together with the Legionary seminarians!

What clothes should I bring?

Bring enough clothes for 4 days. Since it is during the winter time, bring winter clothes too, especially for our outings and hikes. We will be giving each retreatant a cool retreat hoodie too. And make sure to bring formal clothes as well for mass!

If I’m flying, how will I get to the retreat location?

We will have coordinated shuttles picking you up at pre-established times during the arrival day (December 29th) and departure day (January 2nd). Please send your flight info to rcmcnational@gmail.com.

How many retreatants attend on average?

We expect about 90-100 retreatants, all of whom are of high-school age (9th-12th grade). There will be 7 of the Regnum Christi Missionaries running the retreat along with about 13 Legionaries of Christ as spiritual guides and chaplains.

Are dads allowed to come?

Dads are allowed to come as chaperones, only upon approval by their local Legionary priest/brother. Safe environment certificates and volunteer forms must be submitted by December 27th, 2023.
